1. Clean your gutters

You know potential buyers will be interested in the condition of your roof, so stay on top of things by cleaning your gutters before the snow falls. This will prevent roof damage and keep pests away.

You can opt to bring in a professional service or take this task on yourself if you’re feeling up to it. You may also want to consider installing gutter guards. These will avoid clogging due to leaves and debris while still allowing water to flow through – and they will serve as another checkmark in your home’s “winter-ready” column.

2. Protect your floors

Although you’ll need to work harder in the winter to enhance your home’s curb appeal, there are still things you can do. Have shovels on hand so you can quickly clear off your driveway and sidewalk when it snows. Prospective buyers driving by will see that your home is well-cared-for, and your walkways will be safe when they come to view your home.

Keep salt or sand nearby to sprinkle on ice and prevent slips and falls. A pet-friendly variety is always a nice touch.

Lastly, try not to go too wild with holiday decor – subtle touches are your friend this year! Festive decorations are undoubtedly magical, but they may not be everyone’s cup of tea, so it’s best to keep things as neutral as possible.
